Aloo sandwich recipe | Potato sandwich recipe | Aloo masala sandwich

A healthy and filling sandwich recipe prepared with spiced potatoes and other vegetables stuffing. 
The aloo stuffed sandwich recipe is very simple and can be prepared within minutes without any fancy dressing and stuffing. Moreover it can be ideal breakfast recipe for early morning breakfast.
Morning breakfast is an important meal of our daily routine, but at the same time it can be stressful to prepare something healthy and tasty daily for your family. Sandwich recipes are always on to rescue and it offers lot of variations. Aloo sandwich or potato sandwich recipe is one such recipe prepared with simple aloo masala which is not only filling, but also supplies all the required nutrients.

I personally like spicy potato sandwich recipe because of its simplicity and taste. In this recipe i have prepared the aloo masala or potato masala by mixing boiled potatoes and other veggies and spices. But the best part of this recipe is, it can be prepared with leftover cooked aloo bhaji or potato masala used for masala dosa or poori. I often pare it that way and extend it by adding it with green chutney and tamarind chutney. Either way, the spicy aloo sandwich with aloo masala is my new favourite in sandwich recipes for both breakfast and light evening snack.
The recipe is extremely simple without much complications, yet some tips and recommendations for aloo sandwich recipe. Firstly, any bread slices can be used for this recipe but i personally recommend to use white bread slices for better result. Moreover I have toasted  the bread slices on tawa which can also be grilled in sandwich grill or toast sandwich.
Secondly, I have added crushed pepper and red chilli powder to the aloo stuffing, but you can also add finely chopped green chilllies to make it more spicier. However skip these spices if you are serving it to kids.

Lastly, I have prepared the sandwich with only 2 breads, but you can also prepare with 3 slices similar to club sandwich. Apply butter spread to the third slices and place at the centre of the sandwich


Ingredients:

  1. 2 potato / aloo boiled and mashed
  2. 2 tbsp onion finely chopped
  3. 2 tbsp capsicum finely chopped
  4. 1 tbsp coriander finely chopped
  5. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  6. 1 tsp chaat masala
  7. 1/4 tsp salt
  8. 8 slices white bread / brown
  9. 4 tbsp tomato sauce
  10. 4 tbsp green chutney
  11. 1 tomato sliced
  12. 1 tsp pepper crushed
  13. Butter for roasting



Method:

  1. Firstly, in a large bowl take 2 boiled and mashed potato, 2 tbsp onion, 2 tbsp capsicum and 1 tbsp coriander.
  2. Also add 1/2 tsp chilli powder, 1 tsp chaat masala and 1/4 tsp salt.
  3. Combine well making sure all the ingredients are mixed well.
  4. Now, take 2 slices of bread and spread 1 tbsp tomato sauce and 1 tbsp green chutney on each slice of bread.
  5. Spread a tbsp of prepared aloo masala over bread slice.
  6. Also, place tomato slice over aloo masala.
  7. Then sprinkle crushed black pepper.
  8. Cover with another slice of bread and press gently.
  9. Roast the sandwich with butter on both sides.
  10. Finally, cut the bread in half and serve spicy aloo sandwich



Notes:

  • Firstly, use white bread or brown bread of your choice.
  • Also, top with vegetables of your choice like cucumber and onion along with tomato slice.
  • Additionally, roast the bread on tawa or use sandwich maker to roast golden and crisp.
  • Finally, spicy aloo sandwich tastes great when served hot.
